Hearts and Love

There are some things I can always count on – Valentine’s Day is one of those things. For the 7th year in a row we stayed in, made heart shaped pizzas (brussels sprouts and prosciutto is the house favorite) and chocolate covered strawberries (this year I made these olive oil and fig cakes as well) and we watch a romantic comedy (“When Harry Met Sally” fits the bill.) I love that our celebration is something that Mabel can join in as well.

Creating my Valentine’s tableau was easy. The only thing I bought was the white roses, everything else was laying around the house; Rifle Paper wrapping paper (used as a runner), white placemats from Les Puces, a marble platter I received for Christmas, my white Snowe dinnerware, grey linens tied with ribbon and tags from our wedding paper suite (designed by Happy Menocal), and metal leaves acquired from Holler and Squall. It turned out quite simple and sweet.

And on a related, but side note…

Would you wear a heart on your sleeve wall?
