The painting in our apartment is complete. Finally, we did something!
And it was worth the wait, because it looks incredible! We lived in a state of chaos for about a week while our super Super and his team made their way through almost every room. The only thing left to do now is order the wallpaper for Mabel’s room and get it installed. I’m going to try to make that happen in the next few weeks. In the meantime, thought I’d share the progress. Keep in mind that these are un-edited, un-styled iPhone photos!
First order of business, re-hanging the gallery wall. We incorporated some new pieces and took a more formal approach to planning.
Even so, it took over four hours to hang this gallery wall and nearly ended our marriage. And we still have to add the locks. Speaking of, kudos to Brian for suggesting we add the three locks we bought at flea markets in Paris and Argentina. I think they may be my favorite part of the wall. Looking back at the picture at the very top, I think we’ve really elevated our gallery wall game.
Our master bedroom is now a very cozy dark blue-green which I love. With all the accents we have, it almost takes on a traditional, colonial look! But we’ll start swapping items out over the years and modern it up as we go.
In our main living areas we went so white that when Brian didn’t think he’d be able to nap in the living room (because it’s so bright) we wondered if we’d taken it too far. But I love it. Plus all the room accessories will go a long way in cozying things up; hanging art, adding window shades, building the glass wall accompanied by a wall of curtains. Speaking of…
The next big project is that wall. Brian’s 40th birthday is coming up in a few weeks and after that, I’m going to start in earnest. If all goes as planned, we should have a glass wall installed by end of summer!!
