pink and orange

Have I ever shown you the shower curtain fabric I used in Mabel’s bathroom? Probably not since I never finished the bathrooms part of my home tour – eek! Here’s the view from our hallway.

Sometimes fabric finds you rather than you finding it. This is what happened in the case of Madame Richloom Aubusson Coral. I ended up painting Mabel’s bathroom a mossy, sage green and and the look all together is very, very good.

The reason this is coming up now is that I came across this stunning wall mural in orange and pink. And then this artwork by Alexandra Docili.

And my head blew off because I love them both so much.

Pink and orange together is a big yes. And though the examples I found are bright and bold, the fabric that I used in Mabel’s bathroom is a testament to this color combination working well in different styles.

I’m actually really proud of how Mabel’s bathroom  came out – I was able to strike a nice balance between youthful, traditional and modern which really works in that space. I should really show it to you sometime. 😉
