One thing Coco + Kelley and I have in common – a major affinity for these carved wood shell back chairs. The designer of this room, Sasha Bikoff, paired the chairs with bright, primary colors for this casual, beachy look. It’s unexpected and I like it, feels super modern and fresh.
As it turns out carved wood shell back chairs are a hot commodity! Vintage LA is selling a set of carved wood for just under $2k. 1st Dibs had a few, more expensive, options. I’d advise you to keep a close eye on ETSY and CIRCA WHO, particularly the latter if you want a better price. I saw a number of fabulous shell back chairs pass through Circa Who’s inventory.
For those of us who love the look but don’t have a money tree? Here are some great alternatives paired with seat fabric ideas.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t include the Venus Chair, which is perhaps my favorite accent chair. However, considering it’s “price upon request” I anticipate that it would require a little off that aforementioned money tree.
