Across the street from the PA house we rented in early August, sat the remnants of a former stone structure. It looked like two walls and the roof of a two story building had simply been plucked away. I thought at the time how it would be so interesting to try to make something from that… but where to even start?!
Architecture firm AS Arquitectura knew exactly what to do when they came upon a crumbling stone estate in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. Thus, the hotel and event space Hacienda Niop arose from the ashes and it is such an inspiration for how to make something incredible from a stack of crumbling stones.
