One of my biggest pet peeves in new construction, or really any construction is hanging kitchen cabinets that aren’t flush with the ceiling. Ashley Ann’s globe collection atop her cabinets is perhaps the only memorable good use of that space, especially when working with builders grade cabinets.
However, I’ve noticed a trend, of sorts, that lends itself to a few exceptions.
What do all these have in common?
The cabinets are the showpiece, almost like jewelry. They punctuate the room, enhance it, rather than being delegated exclusively to functional purpose. Gorgeous, right?
